I am a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Director of Graduate Studies in the Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies at New York University. Over the past six years, I have led a transformative redevelopment of our graduate curriculum, reshaping the Center’s role in advancing knowledge production and forging partnerships that extend well beyond NYU. With a PhD in Social Anthropology from Harvard University and a secondary degree in Critical Media Practices, I bring both deep expertise in qualitative research and a commitment to innovative, interdisciplinary scholarship.

My work bridges the classroom and the digital sphere, where I integrate advanced digital tools into curriculum design and public engagement—not only to broaden research possibilities but to reimagine the forms and impacts of scholarly outputs in the digital age. My research explores tourism and the cultural imaginations of place across the Middle East, while my teaching emphasizes digital methods as a framework for expanding academic boundaries in rapidly evolving digital contexts.
